P-20 mold steel is a versatile, pre-hardened tool steel commonly used in plastic injection mold bases, die casting dies, and other tooling applications. It offers an excellent balance of machinability, toughness, and wear resistance, making it a go-to material in mold making and tool and die industries.
P-20 steel typically comes in a pre-hardened condition with a hardness range of 28-32 HRC. Its uniform hardness throughout the cross-section provides good dimensional stability and resistance to thermal fatigue. The steel is also known for its high polishability, which is critical in achieving high-gloss mold finishes for plastic parts.
